MSC Orders More LNG Dual-Fuel Containerships
Swiss Shipping Giant Continues Fleet Expansion
New Order Placed with Chinese Shipyard
WEB: Switzerland-based shipping giant MSC continues to expand its large fleet of LNG dual-fuel containerships with a new order in China. WEB: Chinas Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard has started building two more LNG-powered containerships for Switzerland-based MSC.
WEB: Chinas Guangzhou Shipyard International GSI said in a statement it would build two scrubber-fitted LNG-ready vessels following a contract signed in December 2022. WEB: Tianjin Base of Dalian Shipbuilding a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation CSSC has started construction on the new LNG-powered containerships at its facility in Tianjin.
WEB: The latest order emerges on the back of a contract signed at the beginning of 2023 when MSC ordered ten 11500 TEU vessels also powered by LNG dual-fuel engines.
