United States Defeats Serbia for Title
The United States men's national basketball team has won the gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup held in Spain. The Americans defeated Serbia 129-92 in the final game of the tournament.
This is the third straight FIBA Basketball World Cup title for the United States and the fifth overall. The team finished the tournament with a perfect 9-0 record.
Kyrie Irving led the United States in scoring with 26 points in the final game. James Harden added 23 points and Kenneth Faried scored 22 points.
