Mumbai Rains: City Braces for More Downpour in the Coming Days

Heavy rainfall lashes Mumbai, leading to waterlogging and disruption

Mumbai has been experiencing incessant rainfall since Sunday, leading to waterlogging and disruption in various parts of the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city received a record-breaking 152mm of rainfall on Sunday, coupled with high tide. This has resulted in flooding in low-lying areas, causing traffic congestion and disruptions to public transport.

More rain expected in the coming days

The IMD has predicted that the heavy rainfall is likely to continue in the coming days. Moderate to heavy rains are forecast for the city on Monday, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. The IMD has also issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Maharashtra from July 22 to July 24, with moderate rainfall expected in Mumbai during this period.

The incessant rainfall has led to waterlogging in several areas of the city, including parts of Dadar, Bandra, and Sion. Traffic movement has been severely affected, with many roads closed due to flooding. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is working to clear the waterlogging and restore normalcy to the city.
