Caeleb Dressel anchored the US team to victory, giving the Americans their first gold medal of the Games. Dressel is now an eight-time Olympic gold medalist, the most of any American swimmer in history.
Dressel's performance was particularly impressive given that he had been struggling with injuries in the lead-up to the Olympics. But the 26-year-old showed why he is one of the greatest swimmers of all time, delivering a stunning performance when his team needed him most.
