Haaland's Late Goal Secures Win for Manchester City
Brentford 0-1 Manchester City
Etihad Stadium, Manchester
Erling Haaland scored a crucial winner 19 minutes from time as Manchester City eventually broke down Brentford's stubborn resistance to secure a 1-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
The Norwegian striker latched onto a Kevin De Bruyne cross to slot home the only goal of the game, extending City's unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight matches.
Brentford defended resolutely throughout and had chances to snatch a point, with Yoane Wissa coming closest with a shot that hit the crossbar.
However, Haaland's goal proved to be the difference as City moved back within three points of league leaders Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
