Arsenal Falls to Aston Villa
Gunners Lose 2-3 on the Road
Trossard, Saka Goals Not Enough
Arsenal suffered a setback in the Premier League on Saturday, losing 3-2 away to Aston Villa. Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka scored for the Gunners, but it wasn't enough to secure a result at Villa Park.
The result leaves Arsenal in fourth place in the table, three points behind Manchester City and two behind Manchester United. Aston Villa rises to 11th with the win.
Arsenal got off to a bright start and took the lead in the 11th minute when Trossard fired home from close range. However, Villa hit back quickly and equalized through Ollie Watkins in the 16th minute.
The Gunners regained the lead in the 70th minute when Saka tapped in from a cross by Gabriel Jesus. But Villa came back once again, equalizing through Philippe Coutinho in the 74th minute and winning it with a strike from David Raya in the 90th minute.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was disappointed with his team's performance after the game.
"We didn't create enough chances and we were too open at the back," he said. "We need to be better than this if we want to challenge for the title."
The Gunners will have a chance to bounce back when they host Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
