Los Angeles Sparks Finalize 2023 Roster with Layshia Clarendon and Joyner Holmes
Bolstering Guard and Frontcourt Depth
The Los Angeles Sparks have bolstered their 2023 roster with the additions of WNBA All-Star Layshia Clarendon and forward Joyner Holmes.
Clarendon, a 10-year veteran, brings championship experience and leadership to the Sparks. She was a member of the 2020 Minnesota Lynx championship team and has averaged 9.7 points and 5.7 assists per game throughout her career.
Holmes, a 6'3" power forward, adds size and athleticism to the Sparks' frontcourt. She averaged 14.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for the Atlanta Dream in 2022.
Roster Additions Bolster Title Contention
The additions of Clarendon and Holmes round out the Sparks' roster and make them a contender for the 2023 WNBA championship. With both players having proven success and experience, they bring valuable skills to the team.
Apart from Clarendon and Holmes, the Sparks also claimed second-round picks in the 2024 WNBA Draft from the Las Vegas Aces, New York Liberty, and Indiana Fever. These draft picks give the Sparks additional flexibility and depth for future seasons.
